Israeli attacks on Beirut have previously focused primarily on the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs.
However, last week the IDF attacked a building in central Beirut it said was linked to the Iranian-backed group. There was also a strike on a seafront hotel on the world-famous Corniche.
It has raised fears among residents of Beirut that Israel is planning on expanding its campaign beyond the south of the country, and the southern parts of the city.
