A fire broke out at the historic Floyd County Courthouse in Rome, Georgia, sending heavy smoke into the air and engulfing the building’s clock tower before part of the structure collapsed.
Built in 1892, the courthouse was under renovation at the time. Officials said the building was evacuated with no injuries reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
