Why do we call Good Friday “good” instead of “Terrible Friday” or “Sad Friday”? After all, this day signifies Jesus’ death and crucifixion, which certainly wasn’t a happy occasion.
It’s because one of the best things about God is that He can redeem horrific, tragic circumstances, and that’s exactly what He did with Jesus’ death.
Because of Christ’s sacrifice, our transgressions and iniquities are erased. Because of Him, we have peace. Because of His wounds, we are healed.
And that is very, very good indeed.
Continue meditating on the hope and victory that prevailed on this day over 2000 years ago—and still does today—when you watch "The Cost of Forgiveness" (https://youtu.be/oVgVoLFx7Vg) from our video series, "The Holy Land: Connecting the Land With Its Stories".
