The "Chandelier" singer spoke out after agreeing to pay $42,500 per month in child support to her ex-husband Daniel Bernad—with whom she shares 23-month-old son Somersault Wonder Bernard—as part of their divorce. "I’m a sober working mom trying to buy peace," Sia wrote on X (formerly Twitter) April 7, adding that California has "incredibly high child support." She continued, "This has been a horrific year but it taught me how to navigate incredibly difficult situations, prioritize my family and not absorb other people’s negativity." In addition to child support, Sia is responsible for covering her son’s private school tuition, health insurance and extracurricular activities, according to court documents obtained by E! News. Sia first filed for divorce from Daniel in March 2025, listing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakup. In her initial filing, the "Unstoppable" hitmaker requested legal and physical custody of Somersault, with Daniel receiving visitation rights.
