Pro-Palestine protests in Berlin were met with violence and repression as police once again violently detained numerous protesters, including minors, as hundreds gathered in the German capital to mark Palestinian Prisoners’ Day. Demonstrators marched through the streets, calling for the release of Palestinian prisoners and protesting Israel’s recently approved death penalty law targeting detainees.

Palestinian Prisoners’ Day was designated on April 17, 1974, by the Palestinian National Council, affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization.
