Iran’s foreign minister has called US demands ‘excessive’ during talks with Russia on stalled peace negotiations. Abbas Aragchi was speaking after one of America’s key European allies suggested the US doesn’t ‘seem to have a convincing negotiating strategy’ and was being humiliated by Iran. The world economy, meanwhile, continues to suffer, with the Strait of Hormuz effectively closed, meaning around 20,000 crew members have now been stranded in the Gulf for over a month.
