The Pentagon says the cost of the war with Iran has climbed to nearly $29 billion, around $4 billion higher than the estimate given by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just two weeks ago. The new figure was revealed during a budget hearing on Capitol Hill as the administration pushes for a proposed $1.5 trillion defence budget.
