The severe weather forced school and business closures while also disrupting transportation and power supplies in multiple regions. Footage shows emergency crews evacuating residents, collapsed roads, and military personnel clearing debris in affected areas. Authorities said 150 million yuan ($22 million) had been allocated for disaster relief, while emergency response measures were activated across several regions. Meteorologists reported that the unusually large storm was fueled by moisture from the Bay of Bengal, South China Sea, and Pacific Ocean. The slow-moving system also contributed to dangerously high rainfall totals.
