I want you to imagine we are sitting right across the table from each other, maybe at Panera or Starbucks, with our Bibles open, our pens ready, and a fresh cup of coffee. Today, I am incredibly excited to introduce a class that offers one of the most powerful evangelism tools in the entire Bible, alongside a breathtaking look at the physical return of Jesus Christ.
If you have ever wondered how to show someone that Jesus is clearly pictured in the Old Testament, or what exactly happens the moment Christ’s feet touch the earth, you absolutely must join us for this lesson.Here are three life-changing truths we will unpack together:
1. The Pierced Yahweh: Finding Christ in the Old Testament
Scripture References: Zechariah 12:1-10.
Summary of What’s Covered: We kick off the class by looking at an incredible pattern in Zechariah 12 that I love to use when sharing the Gospel with Jewish friends. We trace the speaker through the chapter, establishing that "The Lord" (Yahweh) is the one talking. Then, we hit verse 10, where the Lord Himself says, "Then they will look on me whom they pierced". I will share a real-life story of how I sat next to an elderly Jewish man, opened the Tanakh (the Old Testament), and simply asked him: "When was Yahweh the Lord pierced?". It is a profound, undeniable proof that Jesus Christ, God the Son, is the suffering servant pierced for our sins right there in the Old Testament.
2. The Spirit of Grace and the Invisible Mark
Scripture References: Zechariah 12:10; Zechariah 13:7-9; Ezekiel 8; Romans 9-11.
Summary of What’s Covered: Next, we explore how someone actually comes to faith. We see that God pours out the "spirit of grace and supplication" on the Jewish remnant at the end of the world to bring them to salvation. I share my own testimony of how God poured that exact same spirit of grace on me in 1962, convicting me of my sin and drawing me to call on the name of the Lord. We will also look at the terrifying final siege of Jerusalem, where two-thirds of the people are cut off, but God preserves a faithful one-third remnant. Drawing a fascinating parallel to Ezekiel 8, we will see how God invisibly marks true believers—those who hate sin and love Christ—to protect them.
3. Ground Zero: The Mount of Olives and Millennial Glory
Scripture References: Zechariah 14:4-12.
Summary of What’s Covered: Finally, we arrive at ground zero for the climax of world history. We read the stunning prophecy that Christ’s feet will physically touch down on the Mount of Olives, causing the massive mountain to split perfectly in two. And the best part? Every believer gets a free trip to the Holy Land, because we are all coming back with Him on horseback!. We will explore the immediate, miraculous millennial changes that trigger when He lands: living waters flowing to the Dead Sea, the earth blossoming, and the total end of natural disasters. Simultaneously, we will witness the terrifying judgment of the Lord, as He speaks a plague that instantly dissolves the flesh, eyes, and tongues of the enemy armies while they are still standing on their feet.
