The Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning for extreme heat affecting parts of central and southern England and Wales.
It will begin at 9am on Wednesday and last until 9pm on Thursday, as temperatures are expected to rise to dangerous levels.
Authorities are urging people to take precautions as the heat could pose a risk to health, particularly for vulnerable groups, and place pressure on transport and public services.
Sky’s Science and Technology Editor Tom Clarke explains what to expect.
