Overseas donors to political parties will have to wait a year after moving back to the UK before being able to give more than £100,000 a year, the government is announcing today.
The financial cap had already been announced, backdated to 25 March, but ministers are now introducing a residency requirement.
These new rules could potentially hit two of Reform UK’s biggest donors – cryptocurrency tycoons Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo – who have both announced plans to return to the UK.
