The Turkish Ministry of National Defence shared footage of the domestically developed AKYA torpedo striking its target with pinpoint accuracy during a naval exercise, demonstrating the technical expertise achieved by the Turkish defence industry.
Fired from the submarine TCG Sakarya during the Denizkurdu-II 2026 exercise on June 11, the ROKETSAN-made torpedo achieved a direct hit on the target vessel M/G Sokullu Mehmet Pasa and destroyed it.
