‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ turns 27! To celebrate the iconic mockumentary’s anniversary, ET dives into the vault to uncover rare interviews with the cast, including Brittany Murphy (Lisa), Denise Richards (Rebecca), Kirsten Dunst (Amber), Amy Adams (Leslie) and Mindy Sterling (Iris). At the film’s premiere in 1999, Denise crashes Brittany’s interview, where they exchange hugs and sweet pleasantries. Both actors gush over how much fun they had making the film, which centers around a fictional beauty pageant in Minnesota, where contestants go to extreme lengths to win the competition. Kirsten recalls learning the choreography to the memorable routine set to Gloria Estefan’s ‘Conga,’ and working with a coach to nail the Minnesota accent. Denise, who says she ‘hates guns,’ shares she went to a gun range to get real-life experience for her role. She also laments having to sing during the talent portion of the pageant, and says she asked the director to remove the live audience for that scene! Kirsten and Denise also recall their epic catfight, which they say was partly-improvised!
