Despite touting it as a success, Donald Trump’s Memphis Safe Task Force has resulted in the deaths of four people in two months. In 2025, the President deployed 2,700 officers, including hundreds from federal agencies like ICE and Homeland Security. Local journalists like Holly McCall, Editor of Tennessee Lookout say there’s no way to gauge whether or not it’s actually stopped crime. “We’ve made multiple public records requests. We get nothing back,” she said. “We’re left to go on our personal observations from people on the street.”
