    Fauci hearing shows US still divided over COVID | DW News

    Former top US infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment and declined to answer questions in a contentious Republican-led Senate committee hearing about his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. This shows that the US is still divided over the COVID era, its restrictions on social life and the measures to curb the spread of the virus. Timothy Hagle, associate professor of political science at the University of Iowa, tells us why today’s hearing did not contribute to a reconciliation six years after the health crisis began.
