Under the proposal, parents can attribute up to $2,500 per year, tax-free, directly to their child’s account through their paychecks. Employers would also be able to match up to $2,500 per year, tax-free.
The proposal will be subject to a public hearing on Oct. 15, 2026, before they are finalized.
