Abrams’ comments come amid months of fan theories about a possible feud between the singers. Some listeners previously speculated that Abrams’ 2025 song “Death Wish” was inspired by Swift. However, collaborator Aaron Dessner firmly denied the theory, telling Billboard in July that the track was written about a friend’s ex. Speculation continued after Abrams shared an Instagram carousel featuring both the dress she wore to Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding and an image of Swift’s ex Joe Alwyn.
