Reno-Sparks residents evacuated on Saturday, August 22, as the Hawk fire rapidly grew in Nevada. According to fire reports, the Hawk fire had exploded to 10,522 acres by about 8:20 pm on Saturday, about 10 hours after it broke out. Multiple areas were under evacuation, and US-395 was closed in both directions as the blaze kept expanding.
