The resignation of US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has added to uncertainty inside the Pentagon. Seen as a champion of military modernization and reportedly at odds with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Driscoll leaves a vacuum at the top of the Army, which now lacks both a Senate-confirmed civilian secretary and military chief. Michael O’Hanlon of the Brookings Institution joins us to assess the implications.
