Rescue operations along the Tibet-Nepal border are becoming more intense with time running out to find any missing survivors. The confirmed death toll has passed 1,000, with more than 4,500 people still missing. Roads remain blocked, hampering aid delivery, while thousands of survivors urgently need food, water and shelter.
