Retired Serbian generals gathered in Belgrade on September 5 to honour convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic, days before his funeral.
Mladic died last week at a UN detention facility in The Hague while serving a life sentence. He was convicted on 10 of 11 counts, including genocide in Srebrenica, persecution, murder and terrorising civilians during the siege of Sarajevo.
Despite his convictions, his death has prompted vigils and tributes in Serbia, including chants and banners honouring Mladic at a Red Star Belgrade match.
