The 2026 show, hosted by ‘Law & Order: SVU’ star Mariska Hargitay, is the last in a years-long pact to cycle TV’s biggest night between the four major networks. Bidding is open for a new home come 2027, with reports suggesting Amazon-owned streamer Prime Video may snag the contract. This would follow similar linear-to-streaming moves for other award shows, after SAG’s Actor Awards pivoted from cable to Netflix and YouTube’s acquisition of the Academy Awards; Google’s streaming platform will take over the Oscars once ABC’s ends in 2028.
