News interview at the opening of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Sept. 19 how he and his wife Deborah Roberts are adjusting to life as empty nesters. “I’m looking forward to his next chapter,” the Today host said of his son Nick who headed off to college to earn his bachelor’s degree after he previously spent three years studying communication at Vermont’s Landmark College before graduating with an associate degree in 2025. “It’s always hard for me because at my core, I am a mom and a mama bear, and I miss the kids terribly,” Deborah admitted before optimistically adding, “I love seeing them start to spread their wings and learn to fly.
