MS NOW White House reporter Laura Barrón-López was denied access when she arrived to the White House on Sept. 24, 2026, despite a ruling by U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly. Kelly issued a 14-day temporary restraining order restoring access to MS NOW, CNN and Politico after President Donald Trump banned the outlets. The White House later issued a one-page response, stating the Secret Service restored press passes to journalists. Later the same day, MS NOW and CNN reporters were blocked from covering an event surrounding Trump’s state dinner with Chinese president Xi Jinping. Barrón-López says the big question is, “Will this continue? Are we not going to be credentialed into these daily events?”
