George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, officially open the $1 billion Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, bringing Hollywood’s biggest stars out for the highly anticipated celebration. ET was the only entertainment show on the carpet, where Mark Hamill, Hayden Christensen, Queen Latifah, Oprah Winfrey, Harrison Ford, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and more turned out for the star-studded opening. The museum houses more than 40,000 works spanning paintings, illustrations, comics and ‘Star Wars’ artifacts, reflecting Lucas and Hobson’s vision of elevating illustration and pop culture alongside traditional masterworks. Queen Latifah even hailed the new institution as LA’s artistic answer to the Louvre in Paris and the Met in New York City.
