One of the shootings happened near Johannesburg, the other outside Cape Town. Police say eight gunmen armed with assault rifles stormed a bar on Saturday evening in Wedela township, west of Johannesburg. Hours later, gunmen opened fire at an entertainment venue in a township outside Cape Town. Ten people were killed and eleven wounded.
