Why does it matter that we call the Bible the Word of God, and not just “biblical materials” or “record of God’s revelation”? In this message from 1 Thessalonians 1, Pastor Rogers makes the case for pastors and teachers alike: because Scripture is called the Word of God, it must be absolutely perfect, since a God of truth cannot inspire error.
Pastor Rogers goes further, showing that the Bible shares its very name with Jesus Christ, who is also called the Word of God, so that the character of the Written Word and the Living Word are forever linked. And because it’s God’s Word, it carries real power: it converts, cleanses, controls, and confirms every believer who receives it. This episode will strengthen your confidence in the Book you preach and remind you why every word of it is worth your life.
