The SEC wants your financial advisor holding actual crypto.
The SEC proposed a framework this week that would let registered investment advisers and regulated funds hold crypto directly, not only through ETFs. State trust companies could serve as custodians, and advisers could hold assets themselves in narrow cases with documented controls and an independent examination.
