Seoul has taken a firm stance over Ukraine’s disclosure of the transfer of two North Korean soldiers captured while fighting for Russia. South Korea has warned that their families could face reprisals from Pyongyang. The two men were captured by Ukrainian forces early last year after being deployed with thousands of North Korean troops to support Russia’s war in Ukraine. In return, Pyongyang has received economic and military assistance from Moscow.
