President Trump announced a landmark $6.6 billion joint initiative between the U.S. Navy and defense tech firm Anduril Industries to construct the largest new shipyard in the United States since World War II. Located at Sparrows Point in Maryland, the project combines a $3.7 billion private investment from Anduril with a $2.9 billion Navy contract to build advanced submarine components, aiming to revitalize the nation’s maritime industrial base and create thousands of regional jobs.
