Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe are ninth cousins once removed, with their distant connection tracing back to a shared ancestor in the 1600s, according to a MyHeritage family tree. The Euphoria star’s family line meets Monroe’s through Sweeney’s father, Steven Sweeney, and Monroe’s biological father, Charles Stanley Gifford. Fans have previously drawn comparisons between Sweeney’s love of old Hollywood glamour and Monroe’s style, including when she wore a vintage Ceil Chapman gown to the Santa Barbara Film Festival in February, evoking Monroe’s look for a 1952 LIFE magazine cover. Sweeney also wore a white gown that nodded to Monroe’s iconic The Seven Year Itch dress at The Housemaid premiere last December.
