Tommy Lee Jones, 80, made an extremely rare appearance on the red carpet for the season two premiere of FX’s The Lowdown Oct. 7. Jones kept it casual for the outing, donning blue jeans and a blue button up shirt with a black blazer. He was joined in the carpet by costars Ethan Hawke and Ryan Kiera Armstrong, as well as the show’s creator Sterlin Harjo. The 80-year-old is set to appear on two episodes of The Lowdown—premiering Oct. 14—as the estranged father of Hawke’s character Lee Raybon, a bookstore owner in Tulsa, Okla., who moonlights as a journalist to uncover the grim truths about local corruption.
