Police in Tirana use tear gas and water cannons as thousands of students rally for a second consecutive day against corruption and deteriorating education conditions.
Demonstrators set fire to rubbish bins and throw bricks at Albania’s Education Ministry, marking the most violent escalation yet in months of anti-corruption protests against Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government.
The unrest comes amid a broader wave of student activism across Europe over education standards and living costs.
