Hurricane Simon batters the coast of Jalisco, Mexico

Hurricane Simon has been causing heavy rainfall and strong winds as it moved off Mexico’s west coast. In Mexico’s southwestern Guerrero state, an elderly person died, according to Mexico’s national Civil Protection coordinator.
