A journalist in besieged Gaza and others have rescued a small girl from a burning building which was attacked by Israel on October 14.
Palestinian media identified the girl as Maryam Ahmed Ghanem. She suffered second- and third-degree burns and her mother was killed in the Israeli bombing, Middle East Eye reports.
Her father was killed at the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, leaving her orphaned, The New Arab reports.
“The horrific video of a little girl surrounded by fire as her mother burns to death in their home exemplifies the reality of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. We cannot comprehend how any political leader with a conscience could continue to fund the sheer cruelty of the Israeli government and the war criminals who carry out its orders,” the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said in a statement.
