Attacks on commercial ships around the Strait of Hormuz have surged to their highest level since the US-Israeli war on Iran began in February. At least 11 incidents have been recorded this week. A laden container ship and a bulk carrier have both sunk. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says the container ship hit a naval mine while travelling through what it called an unauthorised route.
