Are you running the Christian race with great enthusiasm, yet dangerously careless about the spiritual rules laid down in Scripture? In this sobering masterclass John Barnett delivers an urgent devotional wake-up call regarding the very real threat of spiritual disqualification.
Obeying the Heavenly Rulebook–Unpacking Philippians 3 and 1 Corinthians 9, Barnett connects ancient Greco-Roman athletic imagery directly to our daily walk. In ancient games, an athlete who infringed upon the rules did not lose his citizenship, but he was publicly disqualified and forfeited his crown. Likewise, a believer who ignores biblical boundaries never forfeits heavenly citizenship, but risks losing precious eternal rewards and bringing public disgrace upon Christ’s holy name.
The Warning of Jim Thorpe–Barnett highlights the tragic account of Jim Thorpe, the legendary 1912 Olympic hero whose gold medals were stripped away and records erased after officials discovered he had unknowingly violated amateur rules. This haunting illustration drives home a vital spiritual truth: running hard is completely useless if you fail to exercise rigid, Spirit-led self-control in both personal training and daily execution.
Cultivating a Mature, Word-Saturated Mind–Devotionally, this teaching radically transforms how you approach Scripture. True Christian maturity requires continually conforming your heart and mind to God’s Word. Watch this class today to align your daily walk with Scripture, eliminate disqualifying compromises, and run with holy discipline to secure an unshakeable, eternal crown.
