Erik von Detten, known for The Princess Diaries and Toy Story, is being accused of elder abuse and fraud after selling gold coins at an allegedly exorbitant price while working at Rosland Capital. In a May lawsuit obtained by E! News, Sheila Greenberg, 85, and her husband Norman Greenberg, 97, allege that the actor and the precious-metals company exploited their inexperience with gold investments. The couple claimed they paid more than $2.1million for coins allegedly worth only about $1.3 million—and that von Detten, 44, later persuaded them to invest an additional $114,000 through their family trust. They are seeking a jury trial and damages. Rosland Capital’s attorneys told E! News they could not comment directly on the lawsuit, but said a liquidating trust will investigate the company’s financial history to provide answers to the Greenbergs’ claims and those of other investors. E! News has reached out to attorneys for von Detten and the Greenbergs for comment. Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1437279/princess-diaries-erik-von-detten-accused-of-elder-abuse-in-lawsuit
