Mara Gay, opinion writer for The New York Times, joins Morning Joe to discuss the latest piece she co-authored and its accompanying video feature, titled "Things Are Bad: How Texas Border Voters Feel Ahead of the Midterms." For the piece, she traveled to the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas near the U.S.-Mexico border. The area has long been a Democratic stronghold, but in 2024, the region swung to President Trump. Gay shared what she learned from the voters she spoke with there.
