Donald Trump just turned the Ilhan Omar investigation into a full-blown fight over her seat in Congress. After a Justice Department filing identified her as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar,” Trump demanded that she resign immediately, told Speaker Mike Johnson to treat her seat as conceded and argued that she cannot remain in office if she was sworn in under a false name. Omar’s office says the claim is completely false and that Ilhan Omar is her real name; she continues to deny wrongdoing.
