Dear Pilgrims & Friends,
We have finished a week in Athens teaching and mentoring–and getting DEEPLY BLESSED.
Here is my farewell to the class shot at Ancient Corinth. Standing amidst the newly excavated leather market in ancient Corinth, right beside the Temple of Apollo and beneath the shadow of the Acrocorinthus, this class invites you into the very physical setting where Paul lived and labored. Following his trials through Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, and Athens across Acts 16 and 17, Paul spent eighteen months working in these lower commercial leather workshops while persuading people in the forum to turn from occultic connections and pagan sensuality.
In the midst of this challenging environment, Paul lab-tested and wrote out God’s complete recovery program: the essential doctrine and daily practice of sanctification.
From this exact Corinthian backdrop, Paul composed the Epistle to the Romans and authored practical instructions for daily spiritual growth found in Titus. Rather than treating Scripture as distant history, this study grounds Paul’s life and letters in real historical locations where biblical truth was lived out day by day.
The life-changing impact of this class occurs as God uses His Word to execute that same recovery program in your heart. As you study key chapters across Paul’s journeys and engage in personal or group study, the doctrine of sanctification moves from abstract theory into active, daily transformation. By discovering how Christ’s gospel rescued people out of ancient Corinth, you are inspired and equipped to let God’s sanctifying power transform your daily character, relationships, and personal walk with Him.
