A student-led protest in France has broadened into a wider movement, with hundreds of thousands taking to the streets to denounce the rising cost of living and conditions in schools. Republicans in the U.S. are attempting to align the French protests with their agenda as the midterms approach, but journalist Aurélie Raya says they’re “really not” about immigration or open borders. “Nothing works here now,” Raya says. “With the oil prices, everybody is exploding… [people] can’t afford anything.”
