Jennifer Lawrence revealed the surprising issue that caused the biggest backlash of her career. “I said that I was team Jeremiah,” Lawrence revealed during an Oct. 28 appearance on Call Her Daddy, nodding to the conclusion of the Summer I Turned Pretty. “The level of hate that I got was bigger than any controversy I’ve ever been involved in in my life.” While the Oscar winner knew fans of the Jenny Han series largely preferred Christopher Briney’s Conrad for Lola Tung’s Belly, she did not expect to receive so much hate for her opinion. “I feel like I was rage baiting slightly ‘cause I did it with my friends. I’d be like, ‘I like Jeremiah,’ and they’d be like, ‘Ugh,’” Lawrence recalled. “I thought it was innocent. It was not.
