NextWork founder and chief executive Amber Winton tells Jared Blikre that most people are still applying for jobs as though a human reads the application first. She says her company’s research puts 97% of Fortune 500 companies using AI to find and screen candidates, that plenty of applicants are now rejected by a screening bot before any person sees them, and that a resume on its own no longer gets through: what does is a portfolio of work you can show. She also argues the pressure runs from entry level to retirees and across accounting, design and law, not just tech. Figures are her company’s own.
