A recently leaked image of Sony’s much-anticipated but still unannounced PlayStation 5 Pro appears to have gained unexpected support from an official source. The design, which was shared by a known leaker, has now been spotted in the background of Sony’s newly revealed artwork celebrating the PlayStation’s 30th anniversary.

Last week, prolific leaker bilbil-kun shared details of the PS5 Pro, including an illustration of its outer shell. While the design largely retained the familiar “open-shirt” look of the original PS5, it had a distinct feature: instead of the single diagonal stripe seen on the PlayStation Slim, the PS5 Pro design displayed three diagonal ridges. This unique element has now appeared in Sony’s official anniversary artwork, possibly offering the first confirmation of the PS5 Pro’s design.
The new artwork, released as part of Sony’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, features the iconic PlayStation symbols—cross, triangle, circle, and square—crafted from a variety of PlayStation consoles and accessories. Sharp-eyed observers noticed a rectangular console with three diagonal ridges between the PlayStation logo and the number “30” in the design, which closely resembles the leaked PS5 Pro image.

If the leaked design is accurate, it’s reasonable to assume that other details from bilbil-kun’s report could also be true. This includes speculation that the PS5 Pro may be a digital-only model but could support the PS5 disc drive add-on. Rumors also suggest that Sony plans to announce the console this month, which seems increasingly likely given the appearance of the design in official artwork.
Eurogamer and Digital Foundry have been following the development of the PS5 Pro since leaks surfaced last summer. Since then, technical specifications for the upgraded console have been shared online, and Eurogamer has confirmed them to be accurate. Digital Foundry even described the PS5 Pro as “the most powerful console yet.” Earlier this year, there were reports that Sony had been preparing a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label for new and updated games that would take advantage of the enhanced hardware.
