The Bethlehem Governorate has announced the cancellation of this year’s Christmas celebrations in Bethlehem, Palestine, just days before Christmas. For the second consecutive year, there will be no tree in the main square and no Christmas lights.
In a joint statement, Palestinian Reverend Dr Munther Isaac and Palestinian Ambassador Dr Hussam Zomlot explained the decision, citing the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the expanding occupation of the West Bank and Jerusalem. They called on the international community to intervene immediately and put an end to the slaughter of Palestinians.
