For nearly two months, cities across Georgia have seen daily protests, triggered by the ruling Georgian Dream party announcing it was suspending the country’s bid to join the EU. The opposition says the party’s election victory last October was fraudulent. The government is cracking down hard: some fifty protesters are in detention and facing charges.
