Israel’s Defense Minister says his country has resumed fighting in Gaza and will press on with the offensive until all Israeli hostages are released – shattering a shaky ceasefire that had been in place since January.
Israel launched a wave of airstrikes overnight Tuesday, hitting dozens of targets across the Gaza Strip. Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry says over 300 people have been killed, many of them children. A senior Hamas official says Israel’s decision amounted to a "death sentence" for the remaining Israeli hostages held by the group since the October 7th terror attacks.
But Israel’s ambassador to the UN insists the operation is aimed at saving the hostages.
