The United Nations has called for an investigation after one of its international staffers was killed in an explosion at a UN compound in central Gaza.
"The locations of all UN premises are known to the parties to the conflict who are bound by international law to protect them and maintain their absolute inviolability," said a spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Israel has rejected claims by Gaza’s Health Ministry that the explosion was caused by one of its airstrikes, after it resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip.
