The White House says President Trump has had a long phone call with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a meeting between Trump and Putin failed to produce a deal to end the Ukraine war. Trump had threatened Russia before the meeting with ‘severe consequences’ if a ceasefire wasn’t reached. But after an apparently friendly meeting between Trump and Putin, the US leader said he doesn’t have to think about punishing Moscow now.
